How to Make Hawaiian Roll French Toast

Prepare Hawaiian rolls

Grease a 9×13-inch pan with the butter and place the Hawaiian rolls into the dish.

Using the end of a spatula, or your finger, push a hole in the center of each roll.

Prepare French Toast mixture

Mix the whole milk, egg yolks, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl, and pour it over the rolls.

Stuff French Toast

Place the cream cheese into a small bowl. Using a hand mixer, whip the cream cheese until light and fluffy.

Transfer the cream cheese to a piping bag. Pipe 1-2 tablespoons into the center of each roll.

Let set

Cover with plastic wrap or tinfoil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. There will still be some liquid in the baking dish after.

Bake & Enjoy!

Bake for 30 minutes at 350℉.

Allow the French toast to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar, and enjoy!

Top Tips for Hawaiian Roll French Toast

Make sure the cream cheese is room temperature: it will be really hard to whip the cream cheese and then pipe it into the Hawaiian rolls if it’s not room temperature.

Add a berry flavor: want to flavor your cream cheese filling? Just add 2 tablespoons of your favorite jam before whipping the cream cheese. Yum!

Overnight is best: this Hawaiian stuffed French toast is best when you let it set overnight. The Hawaiian rolls will soak up all the French toast liquid — it’s just that perfect.
