Made with 5 Simple Ingredients

  • Cream cheese: be sure to use softened cream cheese to make it easier to mix all the ingredients together.
  • Powdered sugar: makes the dip sweet without adding too much sugar.
  • Vanilla extract: adds a subtle flavor and helps cut the sweetness.
  • Chocolate chips: we used semi sweet chips, but you can also use milk or dark chocolate.
  • Heavy cream: we whipped our cream to make the dip even more fluffy and creamy.

Fun Ingredient Swaps & Additions

This recipe is the chocolatey version of our Cream Cheese Fruit Dip, but there are plenty of ways to make this dessert dip all your own. Here are some of our favorite ideas for inspiration:

Strawberry cream cheese dip: Add 3/4 cup of finely chopped or blended strawberries to the dip instead of chocolate. This will give it a beautiful pop of color and a hint of tartness for a totally different flavor.

Add sprinkles: For a funfetti twist, add 1 tablespoon of sprinkles to the dip. It’s like having a birthday party in your mouth! Or try our Funfetti Dip!

Dark chocolate chips: Use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet for a bitter and sophisticated flavor.

Marshmallow fluff: Try adding some marshmallow fluff for a totally different twist. It’s like having s’mores in a dip!

Maple brown sugar dip:  Swap out the regular sugar for brown sugar and add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup for a sweet and caramel-like flavor.

Hazelnut spread: mix in your favorite melted hazelnut spread instead of chocolate chips for a nutty and creamy flavor.
