Buffalo Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip Ingredients
This whipped cottage cheese dip comes together in 6 simple ingredients. And yes, you betcha we used THREE types of delicious dairy (2 cheeses and a yogurt!) for this dip ๐
The dairy triple threat
- Full-fat cottage cheese
- Greek yogurt
- Cream cheese
Get That Buffalo Flavor
- Buffalo hot sauce (we love Frank’s!)
- Fresh lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
what’s the best food processor?
We LOVE our 8-cup Cuisinart food processor for recipes like this that require a high-speed food processor to blend to creamy perfection.
Why Full Fat Cottage Cheese?
We highly recommend using a full-fat cottage cheese for this dip! Using a higher percentage fat cottage cheese will give this buffalo whipped cottage cheese the super creamy texture you’re looking for.
The recipe will still work with a lower percentage fat cottage cheese, but you will be left with a thinner and less creamy dip. Because of this, we recommend full-fat, but, ultimately, the choice is yours!
How to Make Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip – Step by Step
This buffalo whipped cottage cheese dip is as easy as 1-2-3. So easy that we’ve been whipping up this dip every chance we get these days. Let’s get into it:
All 3 Cheeses into Food Processor
Place the cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and cream cheese in a high-speed food processor and process on high until the cottage cheese curds disappear and the whole mixture is thick and creamy.
Pro tip: you may have to stop your food processor, and scrape the sides of the food processor a few times during this process to blend everything smoothly.
Add in Buffalo Flavors
Next, add the hot sauce, lemon juice, and salt to the food processor and process on low until combined. You’ll notice that beautiful buffalo color throughout the entire dip.
Into a Bowl and Enjoy
Pour your whipped cottage cheese dip into a bowl, and serve with crackers and vegetables (or any of the dipping ideas we’re sharing below!). Garnish with cracked pepper, and ENJOY CHEESE LOVES.
What to Serve with Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip
The dipping options are endless for this whipped cottage cheese dip (weโve been slathering this on everything over here), and some of our favorites include:
- Toasted slices of French bread
- Sliced veggies like carrots, bell peppers or cucumbers
- Crackers
- Tortilla chips
- Pita
- Naan
- Truly anything your heart desires!
How to Store Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip
This buffalo whipped cottage cheese dip is best made and served immediately. Should you need to prep this dip ahead of time and serve later, we recommend NOT freezing the cottage cheese dip before storing as the texture can alter when chilling and thawing.
Can you Freeze Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip?
We do not recommend freezing this buffalo whipped cottage cheese dip as the texture of dairy dips like this can become undesirable when defrosting.

So tasty! I might add a bit more hot sauce/buffalo sauce next time, but that’s just because I love spicy.
Nothing wrong with a little extra spice! ๐
I haven’t made this yet but was wondering if it is possible to use low fat or non fat cottage cheese and non fat yogurt? Thanks!
Hi Mandy, While we haven’t tested this, it should work! The texture might be a little thinner depending on the thickness of the yogurt — but let us know how it goes!
