This apple celery salad has plenty of crunch, but the creamy Boursin dressing is what makes it so dang good. Crisp Honeycrisp apples, celery, chewy dates, and walnuts get tossed in a lemony garlic-herb dressing for a no-cook side that comes together in 15 minutes.

Think Waldorf-inspired, with a cheese-loving twist. The apples, celery, and walnuts bring that familiar combination, while dates add little pockets of sweetness. This version whisks Boursin right into the dressing so its savory garlic-herb flavor coats every bite.

  • Garlic And Herb Boursin: The star of the dressing! Its soft texture makes it easy to whisk into the mayonnaise and Greek yogurt. You get creamy cheese and garlic-herb flavor in the same ingredient.
  • Honeycrisp Apples And Celery: Both add crunch, with the apples bringing juicy sweetness. Dice them so you can get a little of everything in each forkful.
  • Dates And Walnuts: Sliced dates add a chewy contrast to the crisp apples and celery, while chopped walnuts bring nutty flavor.
  • Greek Yogurt And Mayonnaise: Together, they form the creamy base for the Boursin dressing.
  • Lemon, Parsley, And Chives: Fresh lemon juice and herbs balance the rich cheese. A little maple syrup rounds out the dressing.

The Boursin Goes In The Dressing

Whisk the cheese with the rest of the dressing ingredients before adding the salad. This gives the Boursin a chance to combine with the yogurt and mayonnaise rather than staying in separate chunks among the apples and celery.

Use a large mixing bowl for the dressing, then toss the chopped salad ingredients right in the same bowl.

Easy Ingredient Swaps

Garlic And Herb Boursin gives this version its savory flavor, but you can use another Boursin flavor if that is what you have. Keep in mind that the cheese you choose will change the dressing’s flavor.

You can also replace the Greek yogurt with blended cottage cheese, as noted in the recipe. Blend it smooth before adding it to the dressing.

Serving Ideas

Serve this salad as a crunchy side with dinner or add it to a potluck spread. Its apples and dates bring a sweet contrast to savory mains, and there is no oven or stovetop space to juggle.
