Mascarpone Frosting

This mascarpone frosting is ultra-rich and creamy and is made from 4 simple ingredients. Enjoy on cupcakes, cakes, cinnamon rolls or cookies!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. mascarpone cheese ~1 cup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4.5 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Add the mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract, and heavy cream to the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix on low/medium speed until well blended.

  • Next, add the powdered sugar and mix on low speed until well combined.

  • Spread on the cake immediately. Or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • We used this recipe for the mascarpone. Feel free to sub for store-bought mascarpone.
  • This can be altered in so many ways. Add lemon or orange zest to compliment the cake being frosted. Or sub almond for vanilla extract.
