- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 1.5 lbs. 85% ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion diced
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese ~1 cup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup taco sauce
- 12 individual-sized bags of Fritos
Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet set over medium heat.
Once hot, add the ground beef and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add the diced onion and continue cooking until the onion is translucent and the beef is cooked through, about 2-3 more minutes.
Mix in the taco seasoning and tomato sauce and cook for another minute.
Cut one side of each bag of chips (length-wise) to make a handheld "pocket."
Assemble the walking tacos: On top of the Fritos, layer 1/4 cup of taco meat, 1/3 cup of lettuce, 1 tablespoon of cheddar cheese, 1 tablespoon of sour cream, and 1 tablespoon of taco sauce. Repeat until all 12 tacos are assembled.
