Stuffed Hawaiian Roll French Toast

This stuffed Hawaiian roll French toast serves a crowd! It's the perfect sweet breakfast dish that's easy to make with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter room temperature
  • 12 ct. Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 oz. cream cheese room temperature

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13-inch pan with the butter and place the Hawaiian rolls into the dish. Using the end of a spatula, or your finger, push a hole in the center of each roll. Set aside.

  • Mix the whole milk, egg yolks, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl. Pour it over the rolls.

  • Place the cream cheese into a small bowl. Using a hand mixer, whip the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Transfer the cream cheese to a piping bag. Pipe 1-2 tablespoons into the center of each roll.

  • Cover with plastic wrap or tinfoil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. There will still be some liquid in the baking dish after.

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Bake for 30 minutes. Allow the bake to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

  • Mix in 2 tablespoons of your favorite jam with the cream cheese.
