Palak Paneer

what is palak paneer?

Palak paneer is a vegetarian Indian dish made with palak cheese and a blended spinach sauce.

what you need:

Paneer Spinach Ghee Onion Garlic and ginger Green chilis Garam masala Heavy cream

Brown Paneer

Heat ghee in a large nonstick skillet. Then, slice paneer into  1-inch chunks and brown for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside.


Cook Veggies

Add ghee to a nonstick skillet and then cook onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and spices for 5 minutes. Add a splash of water and the spinach and steam for 3 minutes.


Puree Sauce

Transfer the cooked veggies into a high-speed blender and blend on high until pureed. The sauce will be a bright green (thank you spinach!).



Sauté cinnamon sticks, cumin seed, and a bay leaf in ghee. Then, add in the cubed paneer and sauce. Bring everything to a simmer and add a little cream. Then, serve over rice.
