Scalloped Potatoes

Creamy scalloped potatoes with a golden brown top. The perfect side dish for the holidays!.

What you need:

russet potatoes unsalted butter all-purpose flour heavy whipping cream kosher salt ground black pepper paprika Frank’s red hot  cheddar cheese

Preheat

Preheat the oven to 400℉. Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray and set aside. Soak the sliced potatoes in cold water for 15 minutes.

Whisk

Heat a pan. Add the butter and flour. Whisk together to form a paste and cook for 1 min. Add heavy whipping cream. Cook for up to 2 min. while cream thickens.

Pour

Remove cream from heat. Add seasonings, hot sauce, & cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Drain potatoes & place stacked in dish. Top with cheese sauce & cover.

Serve

Bake for 1 hour. Remove foil from the top of the dish and bake for another 30 minutes. Allow the potatoes to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
