Asiago Bagels

Why you'll love it

This bagel recipe is perfectly airy & chewy in the center and asiago cheese-filled on the outside!

What you need:

active dry yeast granulated sugar water all-purpose flour salt olive oil light brown sugar baking soda shredded asiago cheese

Mix

Activate your yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add the flour and salt to the bowl. Mix with a dough hook on low for 10 min. Cover & let dough rest.

Roll

After dough has doubled, divide it into 6 pieces on floured surface. Roll balls until smooth on all sides. Press hole into center, cover. Prepare water bath.

Boil

Preheat oven to 400℉. Bring brown sugar, baking soda, & 10 cups of water to a boil. Boil bagels for 1 min, on each side.

Bake

Sprinkle the asiago cheese on to the tops of the bagels and press firmly. Place the bagels in the oven and bake for 16-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
