Eggs: large eggs are the name of the game for this omelette. If you go with smaller eggs you may need to adjust your ingredient proportions.

Goat cheese: for goat cheese omelettes we prefer to use a plain, creamy goat cheese. If you prefer a flavored goat cheese, go for it.

Butter: not only does the butter in this recipe prevent the omelette from sticking, it adds delicious flavor. Don’t skip.

Salt: adding a little bit of salt to your eggs before cooking them adds the perfect amount of seasoning.

Heavy cream: heavy cream makes your omelette rich and then it becomes a bit more mobile in the pan.

How to Make a Goat Cheese Omelette

Whisk together the eggs, salt, and heavy cream until the ingredients are homogenous. Do this first so your eggs sit for a few minutes in salt.

Prepare the omelette

Allow the egg to cook for 20-30 seconds. Using a rubber spatula slowly start pulling the edges to the middle.

Gently lift the handle of the skillet to move any of the uncooked egg to the parts of the skillet that are empty. Continue doing this until the omelette is mostly cooked. About 4-6 minutes. 

Add the omelette ingredients + fold

Add of all of goat cheese, prosciutto, and roasted red pepper. Carefully fold over one side over the omelette over the ingredients and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until the goat cheese is melted.

Top + Enjoy

Carefully lift the pan and carefully slide the omelette on to a plate and top it with additional ingredients .

Low heat is really key when cooking an omelette and helps to prevent any browning.

Surprisingly, yes! You can use a product called JUST eggs. We haven’t tried it, but we’ve herd its is pretty good. Feel free to omit cheese if you are trying to make a vegan recipe.

Ingredients 

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1- oz. Prosciutto, sliced
  • 1 oz. Goat cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons roasted red pepper, diced

Instructions 

  • Place the eggs, salt, and heavy cream in a bowl and whisk until everything is homogenous. Set aside.

  • Heat a large skillet over low/medium heat and add the butter.

  • Once the butter is melted add the egg mixture. Allow the egg to cook for 20-30 seconds. Using a rubber spatula slowly start pulling the edges to the middle. Gently lift the handle of the skillet to move any of the uncooked egg to the parts of the skillet that are empty. Continue doing this until the omelette is mostly cooked. About 4-6 minutes.
  • Next, add the sliced prosciutto, goat cheese crumbles, and roasted red pepper to one side of the omelette. Slowly fold the opposite side over to close the omelette. Cook for 1-2 more minutes, flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

  • Top with any additional goat cheese and serve immediately.
